Trailer Preview – The Camino de Santiago Documentary (HD)

Posted on June 29th, 2010 by admin

www.caminodocumentary.org

The Camino Documentary (working title) is an independent production of Future Educational Films, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) company. Our film is about the experience of walking the life-changing, 500-mile pilgrimage across Northern Spain known as The Camino de Santiago.
—————————————-
This 6-minute clip is a preview for our full 23-minute Fundraising Trailer, which gives the viewer a taste of the themes, scenery and real-life characters that will be featured. The full trailer was created this summer for the sole purpose of raising the funds necessary to edit the final film.

While we anticipate a national, primetime airing on PBS, the station does not provide any financial support. And, given the U.S.’s current economic situation, funding resources for such projects as ours have dried up significantly.

So… WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We’re looking to people like you to spread the word and help raise the funds we need to complete the film’s final edit. You can donate to our project to view the full trailer, volunteer with us, network for us, and join our update list. Visit our “Get Involved” page at caminodocumentary.org to find out how more.
—————————————-
The Camino Documentary (working title) follows six strangers from incredibly diverse walks of life, as they attempt to cross a country on foot with only a backpack, a pair of boots and an open mind. For some, the Camino is a religious or spiritual quest. Others seek time to reflect on personal issues, and some are purely in it for the intense physical challenge. Driven by a calling and a grand sense of adventure, each pilgrim throws themselves heart-and-soul into their physical trek to Santiago and, most importantly, their personal journey to themselves.

Impresiones del Camino francés

Posted on June 11th, 2010 by admin

Impressions from the French Way / Eindrücke vom Camino francés

The chapel Saint Mary in Eunate is near the place where the two branches of the Camino de Santiago join, coming from Somport or from St.-Jean-Pied-de-Port. It’s really a magic place! Very near is the small town Puenta la Reina where we may find the Curch of the Crucifix (in form of a Y), the Saint James Church with a beautiful Santiago statue showing the apostle as a pilgrim, and the bridge donated by an unknown queen of Navarra who gave this place its name and where pilgrims have crossed the river Agra since the middle ages.

Pilgrimages of Europe: Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Posted on May 26th, 2010 by admin

http://www.janson.com/dvd/show_title.php?pid=20245
Santiago de Compostela was one of the three holy cities of the world during the Middle Ages. From far and wide pilgrims made their way on foot to the city in northwestern Spain to visit the shrine of the apostle, St. James. According to the legend, James went to Spain after Christ’s crucifixion to preach the gospel. On his return to Jerusalem he was captured by King Herod and beheaded. The friends and followers of James put the apostle’s body in a boat and pushed it out to sea. After a journey of many months, the body, covered in seashells, washed ashore in Galicia on the western coast of Spain. The shell later became the symbol of St. James Way. James was buried further inland. His tomb was…
