Me gusto bastante, un poco triste.

The poem is "Alma Música" by Nicolás Guillen. While I understand the gist of it, I’m an upper level university Spanish student trying to create an English translation. I’m having trouble with several lines in particular. Here’s the poem:

I recognize that these lines do not have a literal translation, and I’m having trouble putting them into words. I tried using an online translator to at least get an idea as to how they might be translated, but those were of minimal help. I also tried looking for an English translation posted online for this, but there wasn’t one available that I could find. Any input from a native Spanish speaker would be greatly appreciated.
